World Languages

Students may begin their formal study of foreign languages in our middle schools, which offer both exploratory and full-year courses. Freshman through high school, students may elect to start or continue to study one or more languages, selecting from Spanish, French, German, Mandarin, and American Sign Language. Foreign language classes are college preparatory classes. The goal of each course is to develop well-rounded language abilities, which includes speaking, reading, writing, and understanding the target language. College credit may be earned in each of these languages if students elect to take the Advanced Placement test.
