BACK-TO-SCHOOL 2024-2025 INFORMATION!

Staggered Start to Kick Off the New School Year in the Fairfield City Schools
For planning purposes, we want to make you aware of a new process for the start of the 2024-2025 school year for all students in preschool through 12th grade.
  • Only preschool through 12th-grade students with last names beginning with letters A-L will start the 2024-25 school year on Thursday, August 8, 2024.
  • Only kindergarten through 12th-grade students with last names beginning with letters M-Z will start the school year on Friday, August 9, 2024.
  • Preschool students with last names beginning with letters M-Z will start the school year on Monday, August 12, 2024.
  • All students in grades kindergarten through 12th will attend on Monday, August 12, 2024.
  • ALL preschool students will attend on Tuesday, August 13.
We believe this process will result in a more seamless start to the school year and allow time for questions and troubleshooting in smaller numbers.
Parents/guardians of students in blended families, with special circumstances, or who have questions should contact the front office of the school their child is attending in the fall.

Incoming 6th graders - Be sure to register for the FREE Camp Creekside, scheduled August 2 from 8-11 a.m.! REGISTER BY JULY 31! Scan the QR code in the flyer below, or visit https://forms.gle/HQXO4Txqse9ehbzv8

Attendance:
Fairfield City Schools use an automated phone calling system to advise parents if their child is absent from school. The call will be made for all absent students unless a note or email has been received from the parent. Parents who call the school to advise their child will be absent will still receive the automated call, as a reminder to send a note regarding the absence when the child returns to school. You still should send in any doctor's notes, funeral notices, etc. Please remember you only have seven (7) parent notes per year. So anytime you take your child to the doctor, please ask for a note and send it to the attendance office the day the student returns to school. Parents may also choose to call in to report student absences on the day of the absence and should send a note when the child returns. Please remember that you only have three days to send an absence note. These emails and notes are entered into Progress Book daily but there is a delay for these excuses to appear on the screen. The school district policy on student absences can be reviewed in the file listed at the bottom of this page.
