This is a repost, as it seems it did not post on Friday. Attached is a worksheet called Find the Errors. It was distributed and worked on in class on Friday, Sept. 15, 2017.
It is due at the start of class on Monday, Sept. 18.

Why Should We Proofread? examples

Attached is a PowerPoint presentation that we shared and discussed in class on Thursday, Sept. 14, 2017. It is called "Why Should We Proofread" and includes many examples of mistakes that people have made on signs, in the media, and -- just in general -- in real life. Many of them are funny; some of them have cost people their jobs.
There was no HW attached to this presentation; however, students will need to take away from it the importance of making sure our work is clean and correct.

Letter to the Teacher: Home Issues-Questions 2017-18

Attached is a crucial assignment -- Letter to the Teacher -- that will guide me in helping the students survive the school year. It asks important questions about student access to technology, plus time commitments outside school, and other issues that may affect the students' success, such as home and health issues.
Students answer several short questions, then write me a letter telling me about their thoughts about school and English class. I use this to gather information and to get a writing sample.
Students received the assignment in class on Wed., Sept. 6. It is due in class on Friday, Sept. 7

Student Interest Survey 2017-18

Attached is a Student Interest Survey that was distributed in class on the first day of school, Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2017.
It is to be returned the next day, Sept. 6, and turned in. New students that joined the class after Sept. 5 are to finish the survey and return it ASAP.
