Dear Parents and Guardians:

Together we are facing an unprecedented health crisis in our community. In our response to COVID-19, we must depend on the knowledge of the Butler County Board of Health, Ohio Department of Health, and the Centers for Disease Control as well as our elected officials. On March 12, Governor Mike DeWine announced that the state is closing all Pre-K to 12 schools effective Monday, March 16. After the conclusion of the school day on Friday, March 13, Fairfield City School District students will not report to school until Monday, April 6 unless further extended. In addition, all other individual school and district activities are cancelled effective immediately until Monday, April 6 unless further extended. All outside group building usage is cancelled until further notice. The exception to this rule is Election Day on March 17.

Our district is working on a Continuity of Education Plan which will be communicated in the near future. We are also working on a potential plan to distribute meals to students throughout this closure. These plans will be posted on our website, social media, and email once they are developed.

On Friday, March 13 our schools will remain open and be on a normal schedule.

We will provide updates if any activities are rescheduled. Please understand it is not our intent to reschedule school activities during this period of closure. Any questions about the rescheduling of events should be directed to individual school buildings.

The district will continue to update its COVID-19 web page. Visit www.fairfieldcityschools.com for the latest updates.
