Information on Ohio’s Learning Standards
From the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce website
Ohio’s Learning Standards are at the center of the state’s education system. Learning standards explain the knowledge and skills Ohio students should know and be able to do in pre-kindergarten through grade 12. Ohio’s Learning Standards instill life-long learning by providing essential knowledge and skills—qualities most sought by today’s employers. By teaching our students to apply these skills to what they are learning in school, we can make sure they are on track to graduate from high school and enjoy success in college, careers, and life. Ohio measures the performance of its schools based on how well students are progressing in gaining knowledge and skills within the learning standards. We do this partly by measuring student performance on annual state tests based on the standards.

Program of Studies
Academic planning is a key component of a student’s educational experience and should be done in collaboration with parents/guardians. The goal of Fairfield City Schools is to provide each student with a meaningful and successful educational experience. The Program of Studies contains course options for students in middle school and high school and is designed to help facilitate the process of academic planning.
