Yesterday, August 17, Governor DeWine made a public request for all schools to issue a mask mandate in order to keep kids in school long-term. As a result, the Fairfield City School District Board of Education has requested Superintendent Billy Smith add "Facial Coverings in FCSD Buildings" to the agenda as an item for board discussion at their regularly scheduled board meeting on Thursday, August 19.
The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center (PAC) at Fairfield High School, 8800 Holden Blvd. At this time, the board does not intend to take action on this matter at the meeting, but board action is possible.
Because this is a regular session, public comment will be permitted. Individuals interested in speaking must sign up at the meeting. A sign-up sheet will be available from 6:15-6:30 p.m. in the PAC lobby.
