Soren
Facility DogSoren
Meet Soren, our facility dog! Soren joins us from Circle Tail, an organization that trains highly skilled service-oriented dogs. Facility Dogs are specially trained to provide physical, social, cognitive, or emotional assistance to community members in schools/classrooms, courthouses, and more. Having a dog at school can help with improving self-esteem, problem-solving skills, encourage body movement, encourage responsibility, and relieve stress/anxiety. Soren loves his toys, treats, and his Compass family!

Final Forms- VERY IMPORTANT – Take care of this now!
To ensure you receive important information from the district and school, please make sure we have your most up-to-date contact information in Final Forms. Final Forms is the way we are collecting almost all the beginning of the school year paperwork from parents. If you have not yet completed your Final Forms, you need to do so ASAP. The link to do so is https://fairfield-oh.finalforms.com/ Please call us at 513-858-8700 if you need help completing your Final Forms. We are happy to help!

Daily Pick-up of Students
If you are planning to have someone pick up your child EVERY day at 4:00 p.m. (which means you do not want us to put them on the school bus), you NEED to fill out the daily student pick-up form. If you plan to have a daycare pick up your child every day, this is also the form to fill out. We need this information BEFORE the first day of school. If this form is not completed, we assume that you want your child to ride the bus home.  On this form, please notice how our everyday pick-up procedures will be the same as last year. Every day pick-up parents will not need to enter the building at all which helps to make the lines move faster and the drop-off/pick-up procedure run much smoother. You will need to pick up your dismissal tags before the first day! See the form and more details by clicking/copy and paste the link below:

Bus Stop Info
FCSD parents/guardians of bus riders:
You can now look up your child’s bus stop information by clicking on the link below! InfoFinder is our new stop finder. https://www.infofinderi.com/ifi/?cid=FCSD424XN0XCO
All other info is available on the Transportation web pages under the ‘Departments’ tab on the District website: www.fairfieldcityschools.com
***Compass parents: We MUST know by 3:00 p.m. if you are picking your child up from school instead of them taking the bus! Otherwise, you will need to meet them at the bus stop. This will help us to get buses moving faster. Thank you for your help!

Meals
Pricing for 2024-25 meals listed below.
Breakfast: $1.50;  Lunch: $3.10.
Your child is welcome to pack, but if not, we will make sure they get a lunch.  However, if your child wants to purchase additional snacks, they will need money on their lunch account.  You can send in a check, cash, or use the PaySchools system to reduce the opportunity for lost money.  Our Café Terminal keeps track of each student's account balance.
*This information does not apply to kindergarten students, as they follow a half-day schedule and are not here during lunchtime.
While not required by USDA, it is the policy of the Fairfield City School District Food & Nutrition Services Department to allow students to charge meals when sufficient funds are not available during the student’s assigned meal period. This policy allows students to receive a meal at both breakfast and lunch, charging up to $-12.00 (K-5) and up to $-10.00 (6-12). Once this charge limit has been reached, the student will then be offered a peanut butter or cheese sandwich, fresh fruit and/or vegetable, and a milk for lunch at a price of $1.00. For breakfast, they may choose a breakfast entrée, fresh fruit or juice, and milk for $1.50. Students who are charging, have a negative balance, or owe charges are not permitted to purchase a la carte items such as snacks, extra milk, ice cream, etc. All funds that are brought in for the student’s account will be deposited toward the outstanding balance until the balance is paid in full. Students will be notified when their balance becomes low or negative at the point of sale. Charge letters will be emailed or sent home monthly for accounts with a negative balance within this threshold.
For the 2024-2025 school year, the price of reduced and paid lunches will be as follows:
Breakfast - $1.50 (Regular), $0.30 (Reduced Price)
Lunch - $3.10 (Regular) $0.40 (Reduced Price)
If you feel that your family may qualify for the Free and Reduced-Price Meal Program click the link below for more information. https://www.fairfieldcityschools.com/apps/pages/index.jsp?uREC_ID=3236215&type=d&pREC_ID=2365677

Dress Code
A copy of the dress code policy for Fairfield City Schools is included in the Elementary Handbook which is on Final Forms.  Let’s help our students establish good habits right from the start.  Our most frequent issue is shoes with no back strap.  It is for their safety that we require shoes to be firmly attached to their feet.  Flip-flops and Slides are not permitted.  Additionally, we have seen with our older students that purses/mini backpack purses can become a distraction, so please avoid bringing these to school unless absolutely necessary. We ask that purses/mini backpack purses be kept in student cubbies throughout the day if they must bring them.

Student Absence
If your child is going to be absent from school, send us an e-mail to [email protected] by 9:30 a.m. (1:20 p.m. for PM kindergarten). This will notify us and count as your written note for your child’s return! If you are unable to email us, please call the office by 9:30 a.m. on the morning of the absence (1:20 p.m. for PM kindergarten) to let us know, along with sending in a note with your child when he/she returns. If we do not receive an email note from you each day of an absence, an automated Remind message will let you know that your child is missing from school.
