Back-to-School letter to families:
Dear Fairfield Academy Family,
Welcome to the 2018-19 school year! Our short summer break will soon be coming to an end, but at the Fairfield Academy we’ve been working hard to prepare for a great school year!
It is with much excitement that our staff welcomes back many returning students! We would like to also extend a special welcome to all new individuals starting their first year at the Academy. There will also be one new face on our staff this school year as we welcome English teacher, Ms. Jordan Barnes! The entire staff eagerly awaits the arrival of students on Monday, August 20th and look forward to working with your family to make sure that this is a successful year!
As the Academy enters its fifth year, we will continue to build on our many successes. Last year we served almost 150 students and celebrated 52 graduates! Our students completed over 1000 courses and showed significant gains in district and state assessments! We will continue to build and improve on what makes the Academy so successful. The focus at the Academy is serving the whole student, their family and our community. We offer a blended, non-traditional learning environment, where students are immersed in a curriculum individualized to their needs. Academic achievement, positive and safe behaviors and a focus on the students’ futures will always be a priority. At the Academy, each student will feel supported, safe, and welcomed every day.
Students are assigned to courses based on their credit status. During the first week of school, students will be given a detailed schedule/calendar outlining assignments and due dates for each of their courses. It is expected that students work to finish their assigned semester-long courses prior to the end of the semester on January 8. Students are also expected to regularly log in at home and continue working in order to keep pace towards graduation.
Ongoing communication is crucial for student success. We will consistently reach out to families about Academy news, student progress and key dates. If you have any questions we are here to help! You can reach us at (513) 858-7600. Please see the back of this letter for specific dates and details regarding the upcoming school year.
