CCR English 10 Homework and Presentations

Course Description

This is an ever-evolving page for Mr. Braam's 2019-20 CCR English 10 classes, Bells 1-3, 6-7.
It will have homework (if possible to electronically post), and various presentations that are made in class (again, if possible to post electronically). It is for students who were either absent, or forgot to bring home items that they need to be able to work. It is the practical, day-to-day page, while my main page will have announcements, tips, student examples, etc..
You can check in here directly on a daily basis, or -- if you subscribe -- you will receive one email each day that I post something new. The email will include a link and explanation. This is an excellent way for parents to keep up on what we are doing!

LATE WORK for 3rd Quarter ... TURN IT IN!!!

TURN IT IN!!!!

Greetings, parents and students:
By now you may have heard that Fairfield schools will close for three weeks following school tomorrow. (REPEAT: WE DO HAVE SCHOOL FRIDAY!!!)
There are many students who still have late work out that needs to be turned in. I not talking about something that was due in the last two days; I am talking about work that is literally, in many cases, weeks late, if not months late. I have been more than fair about accepting things beyond deadline, but ...
I cannot put it any simpler ... TURN IT IN. Bring it to school Friday AND TURN IT IN.
I have been telling students EVERY day for two weeks how much time is left in the quarter, so they have been well aware that the clock was ticking. Do you need to scan it and send it to me? I am at [email protected].
Do you need to go online and complete NoRedInk.com assignments? Log on and get it done.
Please, do not just ignore this message ... if you need to ask me questions or tell me something about extenuating circumstances, then communicate with me in whatever manner it takes, but, again, do NOT just ignore this message.
And, whatever method it takes, get late work to me. TURN IT IN!!!!!!

P.S. I will send additional messages as I learn more about what is happening within the district!

A Message from Fairfield

Here's the latest from Fairfield administration

March 12, 2020

Dear Parents and Guardians:

Together we are facing an unprecedented health crisis in our community. In our response to COVID-19, we must depend on the knowledge of the Butler County Board of Health, Ohio Department of Health, and the Centers for Disease Control as well as our elected officials. On March 12, Governor Mike DeWine announced that the state is closing all Pre-K to 12 schools effective Monday, March 16. After the conclusion of the school day on Friday, March 13, Fairfield City School District students will not report to school until Monday, April 6 unless further extended. In addition, all other individual school and district activities are cancelled effective immediately until Monday, April 6 unless further extended. All outside group building usage is cancelled until further notice. The exception to this rule is Election Day on March 17.

Our district is working on a Continuity of Education Plan which will be communicated in the near future. We are also working on a potential plan to distribute meals to students throughout this closure. These plans will be posted on our website, social media, and email once they are developed.

On Friday, March 13 our schools will remain open and be on a normal schedule.

We will provide updates if any activities are rescheduled. Please understand it is not our intent to reschedule school activities during this period of closure. Any questions about the rescheduling of events should be directed to individual school buildings.

The district will continue to update its COVID-19 web page. Visit www.fairfieldcityschools.com for the latest updates.

For more information: The Ohio Department of Health has opened a call center to answer questions regarding COVID-19. The call center will be open 7 days a week from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. The phone number is 1-833-4-ASK-ODH (1-833-427-5634). Additional questions can be addressed to the Butler County General Health District at (513) 863-1770.

FYI: 3rd Quarter Ending Soon

Just a reminder to students and parents ... THE 3RD QUARTER ENDS IN 12 SCHOOL DAYS!!!
The last day of the 3rd quarter is Tuesday, March 17. Many, many students have assignments that have not been turned in (or, in some cases, not even started) and grades are appropriately extremely low for those students.
Students are running out of time to turn things in.
Many assignments are online and can be done at home. Others have been posted, so the work can be downloaded.
This weekend is a GREAT time to get it all done. And while you are at it, get your work done for other classes also!
