A Message to our Families

Dear Fairfield Parents and Guardians,
As many of you know, Broward County Schools in Florida experienced the terrible tragedy of a school shooting on Wednesday. Our District cannot begin to express our deepest heartfelt thoughts to them during this extremely difficult time.
We want you to know that we care about your child’s well-being and understand the impact this news could have on them. We always offer counseling and professional support to any student in need. Please let us know if your child would benefit from any professional assistance.
Sadly, the world we live in requires us to prepare our students and staff for these tragic situations. They participate in regular safety preparedness drills and we work with community leaders and agencies to provide mental health services to those who need it.
By law, we are not permitted to share complete details of our safety protocols. Fairfield City Schools has a Safe and Secure Schools Committee made up of building and district administrators, a school nurse, and police and fire officials who work extremely hard to keep drills, plans, and procedures up-to-date and relevant to current best practices and research.
Thank you for your continued support of the work we do.
