Update Regarding Alleged Threat to FHS

Please see the statement below from the City of Fairfield Police Department:

Fairfield, OH – On February 11, 2019, we received information that an unknown person posted a threat against Fairfield High School. During our investigation, we were able to determine that the initial post originated from outside the United States, most likely in Europe. We also found that the initial message was re-posted by a Fairfield student. We have identified and interviewed that student. We do not believe that the student is in any way associated with the person who authored the original message.

During our investigation, we have been unable to identify any credible threats to our schools. Regardless, our commitment to the safety and security of our community is paramount. To that end, we have taken steps to increase police presence within the school district for the remainder of the week. Fairfield Township Police will also have a presence at East and North elementary schools.

We encourage anyone with information regarding this threat to contact the police department at (513) 896-8200.

The Fairfield City School District appreciates our local law enforcement agencies for their continued support and commitment to providing a safe and secure environment for students and staff.
