Fairfield Board of Education Approves Resolution of Necessity

If approved by voters, the proposed earned income tax would support current operating expenses, including educational programs, staffing, transportation, and daily operations. Under Ohio law, earned income taxes do not apply to Social Security income, most retirement income, or investment income, meaning many residents on fixed incomes would not be affected.

The Board of Education will next consider a Resolution to Proceed at a special Board of Education meeting on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at 6:30 p.m., to be held in the Catherine D. Milligan Community Room at Fairfield Senior High School.

The Board’s action follows public discussion regarding the district’s long-term financial outlook, including rising operating costs and reduced state funding. Additional information and opportunities for community engagement will be shared in the coming weeks.
