Fairfield City Schools to Close April 8, 2024 for Total Solar Eclipse

Fairfield Families and Staff -
A total solar eclipse will cross over our area on April 8, 2024. Because the eclipse will be visible in Butler County, we have been told by an outside agency to anticipate a significant increase in traffic and spectators interested in viewing this rare event. This could result in a safety issue for students, parents, and staff commuting to and from school. Based on guidance from Southwest Ohio Disaster Services, Fairfield City Schools will close on April 8, 2024. We believe canceling school is in the best interest of our students, families and staff members and are notifying you now to give you ample time to plan accordingly.
