Reminders and Updates

Hanging red, black, and white tags spell out the words "THIS & THAT" against a plain white background.

A logo features the word "Ohio" in blue script layered over a red outline of the state of Ohio.

Value-Added Results

Value-Added scores were released last week. I will be sending each of you an individual email with your 3-year Value-Added results.
Please take some time to review your results when you receive them. We will continue to use this information, along with our other student achievement and growth data, to help us identify strengths and areas for continued instructional focus.

Spring 2026 end-of-course assessment released items available

The OST Spring 2026 Released Items are available online. In order to make the explanations of the released items more accessible, the Department transitioned from previous years’ Item Release Scoring Guides to an online Item Release Library found in the Ohio's State Tests Portal, In addition to the Item Release Library and Scoring Guide, the portal contains Crosswalk documents for the new Item Release Library items as well as the Item Release Scoring Guides released in previous years.

Fall Party Schedule Reminder

We still have several teachers who have not filled out when their Fall Party is scheduled. Please take a moment to add your party time to the schedule.

Having this information helps the office staff answer parent questions and direct visitors to the correct classrooms during the parties.

Thank you for helping us keep everything organized!

Parent Absence Messages

If you receive a message from a parent letting you know that their child will be absent, please take a screenshot or snip of the parent’s message and send it to Kerri.

Parents may sometimes send absence notifications directly to you instead of West Attendance. Kerri needs a copy of the parent’s message so she has the documentation needed to mark the absences.

Thank you for helping make sure our attendance records are accurate!

West Fall Obstacle Course

West Friends,

We are planning to have the Halloween obstacle course again this year.  I sent a Parent Square sign-up for volunteers last week, so volunteers could plan.   The link is below if you would like to share it with your classes (that would be helpful).

Classes will do the obstacle course on their assigned gym day.  First grade will have specials in the gym from 2:25-3:05 the week of October 26-October 30.

Mabrey will come on Tuesday, 10/27 at 10:00.

If you have any questions, please let me know.

Financial Facts & FAQ Resource

Dear Staff,

Did you know Fairfield City Schools hasn't passed a new operating tax levy since 2011?

Over the past 15 years, the cost of nearly everything has increased. However, revenue from many of our existing property tax levies hasn't kept pace with those rising costs.

One of the reasons is an Ohio law known as House Bill 920.

In this week's edition of Dollars & Sense, Treasurer Jay Phillips explains how House Bill 920 works, shares a real example of how school property taxes have changed compared to inflation, and discusses why the district is exploring different funding options.

Our goal is to help our families and community better understand how our schools are funded and the financial challenges facing Fairfield City Schools.

We encourage you to take a few minutes to watch and learn more!

Thank you!
