At Fairfield City Schools, we work hard to develop a strong sense of community in each of our school buildings, along with the district as a whole. Through these efforts, we encourage students to treat one another with kindness and respect at all times.
To support these efforts, each building establishes Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) in which expectations for behavior are implicitly taught to students. In addition, the Fairfield City School District is an active participant in some national initiatives such as No One Eats Alone and Bullying Prevention Month. For middle and high school students, the district has committed to once again bring the Be the Difference and ID Project to our 7th grade and sophomore students. Assemblies and speakers scheduled for various age levels also support this message of positive relationships with others.

SaferSchools Ohio Tip Line
In 2018 the Fairfield City School District registered to be a part of the Ohio Department of Education and the Ohio Department of Public Safety SaferOH tip line. This free service will allow students to call or text information about any threat to student safety. Calls or texts to 844-SaferOH (844-723-3764) are monitored by specialists at the Ohio Homeland Security’s Threat Assessment and Prevention Unit. Information will then be forwarded to local school officials, local law enforcement, and other agencies as needed. The tip line is available 24/7 and offers students a way to anonymously report potential threats, adding an extra layer to student safety and security.

It is the policy of this District to maintain a learning environment that is free from harassment because of an individual’s race, color, national origin, ancestry, citizenship status, religion, sex (including sexual orientation and transgender identity), economic status, age, disability or military status. The District prohibits any and all forms of harassment because of race, color, national origin, ancestry, citizenship status, religion, sex (including sexual orientation and transgender identity), economic status, age, disability, or military status.

Fairfield City Schools has established a Title IX Coordinator to investigate claims of violations of Fairfield City Schools’ policy of non-discrimination and prohibition of sexual harassment and assault.

In compliance with the Title IX Rule, Fairfield City School District Title IX personnel (including "the coordinator, any investigator, any decision-maker, and any person who facilitates an informal resolution") are required to participate in training as follows:

Title IX's definition of "sexual harassment"

The scope of the school's education program or activity

How to conduct an investigation and grievance process

How to serve impartially, including by avoiding pre-judgment of the facts at issue

How to avoid conflicts of interest and bias

Decision-makers must receive training on any technology to be used at a live hearing and on issues of relevance of questions and evidence, including when questions and evidence about a complainants sexual predisposition or prior sexual behavior are not relevant

Investigators must receive training on issues of relevance to create an investigative report that fairly summarizes relevant evidence.
