FHS ACT-SO Team Wins 14 Gold Medals, Advances to National Competition

Fairfield High School students competed recently in ACT-SO, the NAACP's Afro-Academic, Cultural, Technological and Scientific Olympics. Nine team members won 14 gold medals out of the 17 categories in which they competed.  ACT-SO is a year-long achievement program designed to encourage high academic and cultural achievement among African American high school students. It includes 32 categories of competition in STEM, humanities, business, and performing, visual and culinary arts.  The following  gold medal winners will advance to the national competition in Baltimore, MD July 20-23:

Hannah Willingham in Original Essay and Instrumental Music

Deborah Agyei in Written Poetry, senior
