The award recognizes schools that have received A’s on every value-added measure included on the 2016 Ohio School Report Card.
North's report card for the 2015-2016 school year indicates that students made greater than expected progress in reading and mathematics - especially commendable because of the varied learning needs of its students. As a winner of a Momentum Award, North is part of a group of schools that is showing that children of every background and ability level can achieve.
In a letter to North Principal Denise Hayes, State Board President Thomas Gunlock said the following:
"I am proud of the academic support you, your staff and community have provided to students from every background and ability level. The State Board and Ohio Department of Education look forward to sharing information about your success with schools and communities throughout our state, hoping they can follow your model of excellence. Thank you for the work you do to help Ohio’s students succeed every day."
Congratulations to North students, staff and parents!
