FHS Senior Selected for Co-op Program

Isaiah Shabazz, a senior at Fairfield High School, is the first member of the school's mentoring program to be selected for a co-op sponsored by The Cincinnati Insurance Companies. For seven years the insurance company has been a Fairfield High School business partner and a sponsor of the Success Connect Mentoring Program at the school. The program is a school-based mentoring program that connects high school students with Cincinnati Insurance associates to promote success in and out of the classroom. Isaiah has been a member of the mentoring program since his sophomore year.

5 From FHS Named National Merit Commended Students

Five Fairfield High School students received word that that they are in the top 2.1% of the 1.6 million students who took the PSAT. This elite academic group of students can now add Commended Students in the National Merit Scholarship Program to their list of accomplishments. They are Ryan Finnerty, Emma Hynes, Benjamin Timmester, Lydia Unklesbay, and Ethan Verquer.
The National Merit® Scholarship Program is an academic competition for recognition and scholarships that began in 1955. Approximately 1.6 million students participate in the PSAT each fall with about 34,000 receiving Letters of Commendation in recognition of their outstanding academic promise.

Academy Recognized by OSBA Southwest Region as Outstanding!

The Fairfield Academy program has been named OUTSTANDING in the southwest region by the Ohio School Boards Association! The program is one of the top three "Special Recognition Programs" in the region and was recognized at the annual fall meeting October 12. We are proud of our Academy staff and their tireless work helping students achieve successful outcomes in the classroom...

ATTN Parents of 7th and 12th Graders: Don't forget to have your student vaccinated!

This is a reminder to parents of 7th and 12th graders that if you have not submitted your child's updated immunization records showing a T-dap and/or Meningitis vaccine you will have two weeks after the start of the school year to turn it in. Butler County is hosting a clinic for these vaccines, or visit the School Based Health Center on Donald Drive.

2017 Graduate Bronze Medalist in National ACT-SO Competition

Congratulations to Tessie Dade, a 2017 Fairfield High School graduate, who won a bronze medal in the traditional dance category in the NAACP's annual ACT-SO national competition. ACT-SO is the Afro-American, Cultural, Technical, Scientific Olympiad, a nationwide competition for African-American students. Prior to Ms. Dade's win, Fairfield has produced three national gold medal winners. Fairfield has also produced 21 regional gold medal winners in the past two years. Additionally, the school has 19 regional silver and bronze medal winners.The FHS ACT-SO is gearing up for participation in the 2018 competition under the guidance of club sponsor Corey Simmins and assistance from Austin Sanders, an Assistant Principal at FHS. Student members can select from 32 competition categories where winners will be eligible for awards, prizes and scholarships.
