Algebra I

This course is the first course in the Ohio Learning standards, and the fundamental purpose of this CCR is to formalize and extend the mathematics that students learned in middle grades. The class curriculum deepens and extends understanding of linear and exponential relationships by contrasting them with each other and by applying linear models to data that exhibit a linear trend, and students engage in methods for analyzing, solving, and using quadratic functions, polynomial expressions, systems, and real world problems. Integrated throughout will be problem solving, statistics, and probability. A graphing or scientific calculator is required.
