East Elementary Home
Latchkey: Fairfield East and Fairfield North Latchkey will combine for both morning and afternoon sessions for the 2023-2024 school year. This change in the program changes Fairfield East’s Latchkey location to North Elementary. Students attending am latchkey will need to be dropped off at North. A bus will provide transportation from North to East ensuring students arrive to school on time daily. Students attending pm latchkey will be transported to North Elementary at the end of each day and will need to be picked up at North Elementary before 6:00 pm. Bus Routes: All bus routes are available on our district website under transportation within the department's tab.
Daily Pickup: If your child(ren) will be picked up every day from school, you will need to sign your child(ren) up for Every day Pickup. To sign up, you will need to log in to Final Forms, on the Transportation Information Form select ‘Pick Up’ in the Afternoon.
As an Every day Pickup, you will need to follow our Everyday Pick up Policies and Procedures (see below).
Daily Student Pick-Up Procedures. We encourage all our students to ride the bus but understand there are circumstances that require an end-of-the-day pickup. We have put procedures in place to make afternoon pick-up a safe experience for your child and you.
- Daily pick-up students will be dismissed to the cafeteria each afternoon at 3:08.
- Students will be released when their car arrives. We have school staff members in the pick-up lane, they will radio to the staff member in the cafeteria indicating the NUMBER displayed on your rearview mirror. This number will correspond to the same number displayed on your student's backpack.
- Students should be picked up at 3:10 PM. Our buses leave our lot as close to 3:20 PM as possible.
- If an emergency should arise, please contact the school office immediately. The office staff will let you know where to pick up your child. Please know that the office closes at 3:45 PM and all children must be picked up prior to closing.
- All dismissal changes should be called into the office no later than 2:00 PM.
Parent Bi-weekly Emails/Remind: Bi-weekly we will send out a message via Remind with important building events and activities. We would like all our parents/guardians to receive this important information. Remind is our main source of communication. Therefore, if you haven’t already, we encourage you to sign up for East Remind by texting 81010 with the message @FAEE.

Dear East Elementary School Latchkey Parents & Guardians,
Beginning at the start of the 2023-2024 school year, the location of Fairfield East Latchkey will change. The program will combine with the morning and afternoon Latchkey sessions at North Elementary for the school year. North is located 1.3 miles from East at 6116 Morris Rd. We apologize for this inconvenience, but due to site staffing, it is necessary to combine the sites. While we know this change is not ideal, we hope that this location will be convenient and that we can continue to serve your child(ren) in Latchkey.
Depending on your child’s staggered start day - last names A-L start August 10; last names M-Z start August 11 - you may drop your East student off at the North Latchkey location as early as 6:30 a.m. You will receive a door code for entry. Prior to their school start time, East students will ride a Fairfield bus to East.
At the end of the school day, East Latchkey students will ride a bus to North. The transportation department will share additional information about busing. You can pick up your child from North. Please be aware that the program will close promptly at 6:00 p.m.
**If your child attends PM Latchkey, please contact Susan Miner (e-mail [email protected]) with your child’s name, schedule, and teacher’s name. This will assist us in making sure PM Latchkey students arrive safely at North each afternoon!
