POSITION: ESL Community Liaison
This employee serves as a liaison among children who are English Language Learners (ELL), parents,
School personnel, community members, and other entities for the Fairfield City School District. Under
The direction of an administrator or teacher, the employee assists English Language Learners (ELL) and
their families using various communication strategies regarding the educational program including but
limited to instruction, grades, attendance, discipline, District procedures, Board policies, state regulations.
The employee may be required to attend building level and/or district meetings, community events, and
other student activities.
High School Diploma required.
Foreign language experience. Fluency in Spanish.
Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills, with keen attention to detail.
Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate effectively and work productively with all levels of District staff, parents, and the general public.
Ability to self-direct and prioritize among competing goals and exhibit flexibility.
Commitment to the highest personal and professional standard.
Strong thinking, planning and organizational skills.
Physical ability to perform all essential functions of the position.
Bending, lifting, twisting and repetitive motion required.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Valid Driver’s license.
Must pass criminal background check, and be free from communicable disease.
STARTING DATE: August 2017
SALARY: Based upon the Governing Board approved Salary Schedule
BENEFITS: Excellent benefit package for all full time employees
WORK YEAR: Full Time – 183 days
