Two Fairfield High School seniors, Cathalee Soergel and Mindy Cimini, have been awarded National Merit Scholarships.They are among 31 seniors in Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky to win the $2,500 awards. Only four public schools -- Fairfield, Mason, Indian Hill and Sycamore, had multiple winners in this second of four rounds of announcements.

Soergel, known as C.J. to her classmates, is planning to attend Miami University to study physics and math. Cimini is planning to attend Brandeis University and major in English and music.
