Language Arts
Fairfield is committed to offering a quality language arts education program. It is no secret that language arts studies provide opportunities for our students to further their education as well as attain and sustain meaningful and productive careers. Therefore, Fairfield has designed a course of language arts study to develop in each individual the means for using this knowledge to enrich the experience of living.
The Fairfield community can be assured that its
language arts teachers are committed to using the
most effective means for teaching this subject
in the classroom. Instruction is based on effective
methods and programs that are research based. We
support the belief that a student’s ability
to learn language arts is primarily a function
of three interacting factors: the type of teaching
the student receives, the amount and quality of
effort which the student applies, and the support
a student and their teacher receive from home.
Together, we can provide rich experiences for our
students, as well as opportunities to write and
talk about what they've learned.
The following links are intended to provide more information for parents about our philosophy, the Ohio State Standards on which our course of study is based, a more in depth look at our language arts programs, and how to assist your child at home. Additional links at each level are provided for other topics or Web sites of interest.
