The Fairfield Schools will begin a community book read this fall, using The Winners Manual by Jim Tressel, the Ohio State football coach. Students, their parents, and the entire community are encouraged to participate.

There will be gatherings to discuss the book, both at the schools and at other, non-school locations. Also planned is a blog to allow online discussions. Times and locations of the discussion gatherings, and the link to the blog, will be posted on the school district website as soon as they're set.

The book details the "Big Ten Fundamentals" that can help individuals be successful in life. For younger children, local author Robin Atyeo is developing a companion book that includes similar themes.

The book is available for sale at Walmart in Fairfield Township. It will also be available at various events leading up to the new schoolyear, such as schedule pickup days, open houses, the Back-to-School Parade and pep rally, etc. It can also be ordered through the school district by calling 737-5000.
