Student Absences

An e-mail address has been established for attendance purposes. Parents may now use the following address to report student absences: westattendance@fairfieldcityschools.com If received by 9:30 a.m. on the morning of the absence, the e-mail notification will serve as both a call in and a parent note. This email address is an option we are providing for your convenience. Parents may still choose to call in to report student absences by 9:30 a.m. on the day of the absence and send a note with the child when he/she returns. We need to receive written notification of a child's absence within 3 days of the child's return to school in order for the absence to be considered excused. Please continue to ask for written verification of any doctor/dentist visits, funerals, court dates, etc. and send them in with your child on the day he/she returns to school. Good attendance is critical for success in school. If you have any questions regarding our new e-mail notification system, please call Cheryl Geisler at the school office, 868-3021.

LABEL COLLECTION
Fairfield West families are invited to collect various labels to help raise money for school equipment. We currently collect Campbell's labels that are found on soup and 150 other products such as Prego sauce, Swanson broth, and Pepperidge Farms crackers. This year there are products that are worth 5 points each. These include 26 varieties of condensed soup in specially marked cans, all Campbell's microwave soups, Supper Bake Meal Kits, all V8 Splash Beverages, and all Pepperidge Farm goldfish crackers. We only need the UPC part not the whole front label. Visit www.labelsforeducation.com for details. We also save BoxTops for Education labels and our goal is to raise $2, 000. One of the easiest ways to support this project is by going to www.boxtops4education.com where you'll learn all the ways you can help. These labels are located on many products such as Kleenexes, Ziploc, Pillsbury cookies, General Mills and Betty Crocker items. Lastly, we also collect labels from Tyson products. Look for the 1, 2, 3 Support Your School label on a plastic bag or carton. Please cut and send in the label portion only. If you have questions about label collection you may contact, PTC member, Becky Berger at 829-6073.
