| Drug Free School |

| Drug Free Schools focuses on drugs, alcohol and tobacco use. Just Say No addresses other teen issues like, peer pressure, gangs, suicide, self esteem, abstinence, sexual predators, etc. |

| The Fairfield Middle School Student Council is an after school extra curricular activity which focuses on several aspects of leadership in school and around the community. Some activities in which Student Council students participate include: planning and participating in school spirit activities, community service, and various other school functions relating to encouraging and influencing a positive school environment. |

| PE Club |

| This is an extra-curricular program that will take a closer look at the life traits that it takes to be successful in life. The club will meet once a week in the spring. Mini lessons will be instructed on the following topics: Attitude, Proactive, Responsibility, Manners, Perseverance, Honesty, Commitment, Enthusiasm and Courage. The following activities will also be instructed: Dodgeball, Basketball, Hockey, Soccer, Softball and Handball. |

| Leadership Weekend |

| Students are nominated at the end of the seventh grade. Eighth grade teams then select two boys and two girls that have demonstrated to be proven leaders. The 32 students selected will attend training over a weekend at Camp Camblegaurd. Students are expected to take the skills covered and apply them to their school and community. Students are expected to join student council and work to make our school a better place. |

| Bible Club |

| A student run bible study and gathering where students can share their faith openly while discussing topics important to them. Students can sign up with Mr. Sedziol about possible topics, leading a study, or bringing in snacks. The Bible Club participates in a Christmas adopt-a-family, The Used Book Depository (you can donate used Bibles and Hymnals), the middle school sandwich making program, and many other volunteer opportunities. The club meets every Wednesday, 3:00 to 3:45 in Mr. Sedziol's room (505). |

| Police And Fire Academy |

| As an eighth grade student at Fairfield Middle School you will have an opportunity to participate in the Fairfield Youth Fire-Police Academy. You will experience first-hand fire and police investigation, see K-9 demonstrations, water and hose evolution, crime scene investigation, helicopters from Air Care and the Butler County Sheriff Office, and hear from members of our SWAT team. This program is designed to give students who may be interested in careers in Fire and Police work a close look at the people and activities involved in those professions. This program is generally offered in the fall and the spring. |

| National Junior Honor Society |

| In order to be invited to become a member of the Fairfield Middle School chapter of the National Junior Honor Society, students must be in the eighth grade. They must meet the scholarship requirement of a 93 or above cumulative grade for all seventh grade subjects. Students must then complete an application for membership. This application will aid the faculty committee in evaluating the students in the areas of service, leadership, character, and citizenship. |

| The purpose of the NJHS is to create enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate a desire to render service, to promote leadership, to develop character and to encourage citizenship at FMS. The NJHS meets once a month and participates in various activities throughout the school year. |
