Jerome Kearns, President

Biography: Born in Columbus, Ohio. Married (Dawn). Together have three children; two children attend the Lakota Local School District and one child attends Fairfield Middle School. A resident of Fairfield Township since 2004.
Education: Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in social work from The Ohio State University; master’s certificate in state and local government contract management from George Washington University.
Professional: Assistant Director at Butler County Department of Job and Family Services. Over 18 years experience working in the public sector in management positions.
Community involvement: Member, Fairfield Township Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association; board member, Shared Harvest Foodbank; member, Fairfield Kiwanis; board member, Workforce One Investment Board of Southwest Ohio.
Biography: Born and raised in Portland, Michigan. Married to Karen, two children: Melissa, FHS Class of 2009; Emily, FHS Class of 2011, both now at Miami University. Fairfield resident since 1995. Education: Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in public administration from Michigan State University; Master of Arts (M.A.) in political science from San Francisco State University; and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in political science from Miami University.
Professional: Visiting Assistant Professor and Senior Project Manager, Center for Public Management and Regional Affairs at Miami University teaching American government and public administration courses. Prior to Miami University, was employed for 10 years by Citibank (CA) in a variety of consumer credit and risk management positions.
Community involvement: Citizens for Fairfield Schools, Rolling Hills Swim Team.
Biography: Raised in Gloucester, Massachusetts; Married to Megan (Hughes); Three children: Halle, FHS Class of 2005; Thomas, FHS Class of 2008; and Brenna, FHS Class of 2012; Fairfield resident since 1990. Education: Gloucester High School, Class of 1973; Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Merrimack College, North Andover, Massachusetts, 1977; Master of Science in Civil Engineering, Northeastern University, Boston, Massachusetts, 1993.
Professional: Senior Environmental Engineer, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Cincinnati, Ohio; Registered Professional Engineer, Commonwealth of Massachusetts and State of Ohio; Board Certified Environmental Engineer, American Association of Environmental Engineers; Represented the United States as Co-Director of the NATO Science for Peace and Security, Pilot Study on Clean Products and Processes, co-chairing international meetings in Northern Ireland, Denmark, Lithuania, Spain, Italy, Hungary, Norway, Turkey, Portugal, and Germany.

Don Nuss, Jr., Board Member
Term: Appointed to complete the term that expires 12/31/13
Biography: Grew up near Philadelphia and has lived in the district for 24 years. Married to Tammy, and currently lives in Fairfield Township. Has two sons, Tyler, a college junior, and Ryan, a sophomore at Fairfield High School.
Education: Bachelor of Science in Environmental Health from East Tennessee State University in 1982.
Professional: Regional Environmental Manager with Stericycle, Inc.
Community Involvement: Active parent volunteer with swimming and football programs. Member of the Touchdown Club, and lifetime booster of Fairfield Athletics.
Biography: Born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama. Married to Dennis, two children - Denton, FHS class of 2020 and Brielle, FHS class of 2022; Fairfield Township resident since 2001.
Education: Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering, University of Alabama at Birmingham and Master of Science in mechanical engineering, University of Cincinnati.
Professional: Currently a Senior Engineer at Belcan Engineering contracting for General Electric. Areas of specialization are marine and industrial combustion design engineering and commercial engine mounts. Also worked as a stress and fatigue analyst with the Boeing Company responsible for the structural integrity of the Empennage section of the 737 Next Generation aircraft line.
Community involvement: Fairfield Township Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association, Community Advocate and Events Planner, Parent Classroom Helper, Parent Resource Team for the District.
