It is no secret that a cohesive and rigorous math background provides opportunities for our students to further their education as well as attain and sustain meaningful and productive careers. Therefore, Fairfield has designed a course of mathematics study to develop in each individual the means for using mathematics to enrich the experience of living.

The Fairfield community can be assured that its mathematics teachers are committed to using the most effective means for bringing mathematics alive for the students in their care. Instruction is based on effective methods and programs that are research based. We support the belief that a student’s ability to learn mathematics is primarily a function of three interacting factors: the type of teaching the student receives, the amount and quality of effort which the student applies, and the support a student and their teacher receive from home. Together, we can provide rich mathematical experiences for our students, as well as opportunities to write and talk about mathematics.
