What is Race to the Top (RttT)?

Race to the Top is a federally-funded program that pays for teacher and principal training on how to use data to examine student learning and progress throughout the school year. It will provide teachers with opportunities to train on the new standards that all students are expected to learn in math, language arts, science and social studies. As a result of participating in this program our district will receive $532,000 over four years so that we can prepare our c hikldren to be successful participants in the 21st century and beyond. The Curriculum Department participated in workshops, meetings and discussions which have helped prepare us to align our work wit the new Common Core standards and the revised state standards.
